US2024 Election Exchange Lead

I am an editor with more than ten years of experience leading innovative, award-winning newsroom teams. My favorite stories all stem from this question: How does technology affect our lives and rights?
From 2014-2019, I asked this question a lot while leading technology coverage at Global Voices, an international media organization of bloggers, journalists and activists from more than 170 countries. More recently, as a senior editor at Coda Story, I shaped award-winning enterprise coverage of the real-life impacts of surveillance and social media companies in the majority world, and wrote the weekly Authoritarian Tech newsletter.
My writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, Huffington Post, Slate, and Americas Quarterly, among others. Stories I’ve edited have won recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Fetisov Journalism Awards, and the Orwell Foundation. I am also a former fellow at Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society.
This season, I'm working with the team at Meedan to help lead a coalition of newsrooms around the world that are tracking online disinformation around the US 2024 election.
