Kevin Nguyen is an investigative journalist and digital forensics reporter with ABC NEWS Verify based in Sydney, Australia. He has won awards for his work on extremism (which led to the dismantling of a white supremacist terror network), the Black Summer bushfires, and has contributed to other acclaimed stories and projects covering politics, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and financial corruption. Prior to joining the ABC, Kevin was a reporter with verification agency Storyful and was the 2019 MJ Bear fellow for ONA. Today, he is considered Australia's best journalist specialising in open-source intelligence (OSINT) and an advocate for journalistic security. Outside of reporting he is a media educator and lecturer, a photographer, and was the 2023 Journalism AI fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His true-crowning achievement, however, is his ability to wrangle adults for regular sessions of DnD (Dungeons & Dragons).
