Getting to the hotel on public transit from the airport

You have the option to take a MARTA train (part of Atlanta's public transit system) directly to the hotel. Trains run every 5-10 minutes. The journey on the train is about 18 minutes, but you should allow about 45 minutes to get from baggage claim to the hotel desk.

Make travel even easier by learning how to buy fares in advance and use your phone as your MARTA pass.

To take MARTA from ATL all the way to the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Downtown:

  1. Follow the signs near baggage claim at the ATL airport for MARTA. (See pictures below.)
  2. Purchase a Breeze ticket:
    • We recommend downloading the Breeze 2.0 mobile app on Apple or Android to do this ahead quickly and easily. You can purchase one or more tickets at a time on your phone with or without creating an account. Each ride on MARTA is $2.50, regardless of distance.
    • You can also use one of the machines onsite to purchase a Breeze card. The card costs $2, and each ride on MARTA is $2.50, for a total of $4.50 inbound.
  3. Board the train at the airport, on the Gold train in the direction of Doraville Station or Red train in the direction of North Springs Station.
  4. Take the train eight stops to Peachtree Center Metro Station.
  5. From there, the hotel is about 0.3 miles (or half a kilometer). If you are walking, this is about a six minute walk.
    • If you arrive between 7 a.m. and 6:45 p.m., you can choose to walk from MARTA through the Peachtree Center — which includes easy eateries, coffee, and a CVS pharmacy — to the Hyatt using a skybridge between the two buildings.

Travelers walk through an airport corridor, with baggage claim to the left, under a sign directing them to ground transportation, rental car center, and MARTA (train to city). The sign includes Spanish translations, and the environment appears busy with passengers and security personnel.
You can take the train on either side of the airport's MARTA station platform to get to the Peachtree Center Metro Station.
The Atlanta Airport MARTA Station stop platform is nearly empty. There is an overhead sign indicating directions to the airport and other destinations. An escalator in the center leads down to the train tracks, where a few people are boarding stationary trains on either side. The ceiling features a lattice of metal beams.
